NHS charity unveils new fundraising hub
A new era has begun for the Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity following the opening of a new Charity Hub.
The Mayor of Rotherham, Councillor Tajamal Khan, and The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust’s Deputy Chief Executive, Michael Wright, formally opened the brand new office space at Rotherham Hospital on Tuesday 9 August with a little help from the charity’s children’s appeal mascot Dr Ted.
Rachael Dawes, Head of Fundraising, said: “We are incredibly proud to finally open our first ever Charity Hub. It’s an amazing opportunity for the charity to welcome more people through our doors to find out who we are, what we do to support the Trust and the 500,000 patients we care for from Rotherham and beyond every year.
“People can now find us more easily so hopefully we can have more discussions about our events, fundraising campaigns and grants.
“People can pop in and make a donation and we’ll be making it easier for everyone to do so by adding an electronic donation point in future. We are also very excited about our new furniture arriving from our sponsors, Southern Broadstock. We’d like to say a huge thank you to them and our incredible Estates team for making this happen.”
The Charity Hub, located on the main concourse at Rotherham Hospital, opposite the Stock Shop and Boots, will be open weekdays from 10am to 2.30pm.
Cllr Khan added: “I’ve chosen the Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity as one of my charities of the year because I know they do such wonderful things to enhance patient care in the community and at Rotherham Hospital. Their new office means the charity team will be more easily accessible and recognisable. I’m proud to be able to open the new hub and I hope to see lots of fundraisers coming forward to show their support too.”
