On October 10th, the Manufacturing Supply Chain Expo, a showcase for the Barnsley and Rotherham local Manufacturing industry, took place at the Rigby Suite in Barnsley Metronome, proudly hosted by Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce, and sponsored by Corrosion Resistant Materials Ltd. This Expo brought together a diverse array of industry professionals, all eager to connect with suppliers from the Manufacturing industry.

Each exhibitor featured at the expo had a direct link to the region’s supply chain, showcasing the products, services and solutions they had to offer. The event aimed to increase the visibility of local manufacturing suppliers operating in Barnsley, Rotherham, and the broader South Yorkshire manufacturing.

Adam Bradley, the Director of Corrosion Resistant Materials and a proud sponsor of the Manufacturing Supply Chain Expo, emphasised the importance of collaboration in the manufacturing industry going forward.

Adam Stated, “Embracing collaboration is the cornerstone of progress in the manufacturing industry. As the Director of Corrosion Resistant Materials and a proud sponsor of the Manufacturing Supply Chain Expo, I believe this expo can be a catalyst for driving positive change by empowering local suppliers to make those key connections with important players within the manufacturing sector. Together, let’s forge a stronger, more resilient manufacturing landscape for the future.”

The manufacturing industry is a foundation of the Barnsley, Rotherham, and South Yorkshire economy. The expo, through its resounding success, has played a significant role in raising awareness about the importance of this sector. It is our hope that the efforts of this event will bear fruit and contribute to the strengthening and development of business opportunities within the region. By fostering connections, sharing knowledge, and showcasing innovation, the Manufacturing Supply Chain Expo has laid the foundation for a brighter future for all involved.

The Expo was a celebration of industry, collaboration, and community. Its success in bringing together diverse stakeholders, raising profiles, and fostering a sense of unity is a testament to the strength of the local manufacturing sector. As we look ahead, we are filled with optimism about the potential for growth in Barnsley, Rotherham, and the wider South Yorkshire region. With continued collaboration and support, the future of manufacturing in this area looks brighter than ever before.

Charles Turner, Master Cutler said, “We are aware that putting a face to a name and making a connection in a place like this is very important, you throw in the regional focus and that concentration on one area, in the case of manufacturing, and you have a really great event.”

“What I really like is the buzz around doing business locally and I think that’s key. This is all about making connections between Barnsley and Rotherham companies, so they can do business together.

“It’s been delightful to see companies from the manufacturing industry, the steel supply chain and the service industry talking together because they see the symmetry and sense of doing business together.”
