Rotherham’s Gala Tent, the UK’s leading manufacturer and retailer of marquees and branded pop-up gazebos, has announced the submission period of their second annual design-a-tent contest has now opened for all organisations that care for Primary-age children, and aims to build on the amazing success of last year’s competition, by making it more inclusive.

In 2021, the firm gave away three unique pop-up gazebos to primary schools whose children had designed bright and colourful canopies, which were voted for by their supporters on Gala Tent’s Facebook page. Almost 20,000 votes were cast, and children from the Midlands and Suffolk were presented with their prizes by the Gala Tent team.

This year, the competition has been opened to schools, youth groups, football teams, Cubs and Beaver troops, and day care centres, to give any organisation that looks after children aged 11 and under the opportunity to win one of four prizes.

Gala Tent CEO Jason Mace said, “Last year’s contest took us by surprise with how popular it became, especially once the final designs were announced. The children were overwhelmingly supported by their friends and family, and it was a humbling experience to be able to support them back with a top-of-the-range gazebo that they had designed.”

The contest is open to four different age groups to make it fair for all, and all organisations are permitted to enter a design into each age group to give them a better chance of success. The submission period closes at the end of March, with the judging period then taking two weeks for Gala Tent’s staff to choose their favourite ten designs from each age group, before the public voting stage opens for two weeks. The winners will then be announced and their prizes delivered after June’s half term, to allow them to get good use before the summer holidays.

Gala Tent Marketing Manager Ryan Bracha said, “We’re hoping that more schools and organisations enter the competition than last year, to make it more competitive and exciting. There’s no limit on the type of childcare you offer, if you look after youngsters and you could benefit from a commercial quality shelter then you’re eligible.”

For anybody that’s interested in entering the contest for their own organisation, further information and entry forms can be found at www.galatent.co.uk/win-a-printed-tent with the submission period closing on 31st March 2022.
