Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice is encouraging supporters to scale the highest peaks in Yorkshire to raise much-needed funds as the charity’s events make a welcome return.

From the epic Yorkshire Three Peak challenge to a gentler One Peak event, the charity is offering a variety of guide-led treks on June 12th to suit novices through to seasoned trekkers. Bluebell Wood is also offering the use of specialist wheelchairs to make the challenges more accessible.

The Yorkshire Three Peak challenge takes in the dizzy heights of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, covering 24 miles in the process.  The aim is to conquer all three peaks in under 12 hours, making it the perfect opportunity to gather friends, family or colleagues for a team-building day out.

Beth Cole, Events Fundraiser at Bluebell Wood, said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge after a year in which we’ve had to the cancel the majority of our fundraising events.

“Our events are incredibly important in raising funds to support local families, so by taking part you really will be making a huge difference.

“Not only that, the challenges make for a fantastic and fun day out surrounded by some of the most breathtaking scenery Yorkshire has to offer.

“So, whether you want to go it alone, with your friends or pit yourself against a group of work colleagues, we’d love to hear from you.”
