Gala Tent to match money raised through charity raffle

The owners of South Yorkshire-based Gala Tent, the UK’s leading manufacturer and retailer of pop-up gazebos and marquees, have pledged their support to the displaced families of the conflict in Ukraine, by organising a charity raffle with the aim of raising £5,000 that will be used to purchase vital supplies to send to the likes of Poland and Romania, where more than one million refugees have fled since the Russian invasion began at the end of February.

A donation page has been launched where supporters will be able to donate a minimum of £2.50 to the cause, with each donation generating an entry into a draw to be in with the chance of winning a commercial quality 3m x 3m pop-up gazebo worth over £520. Once the campaign reaches 1000 entries or £2,500, the company will then match that donation, bringing the total value of the effort to £5,000.

The company will then work directly with local charitable organisations who are handling donated supplies, to purchase the items most in need at the time, with a focus on products that will help the children of the conflict, as well as feminine products and food for their pets.

Gala Tent CEO Jason Mace said, “Over a million people having to leave not just their home, but their home country, with just the clothes on their back and no money to feed their children, it’s heart-breaking. Hearing of all of the relief efforts across the country has left us eager to get involved and do what we can to dig deep. I’ll be matching the £2,500 raised through the raffle, and we want to ensure that the products we donate are exactly what is needed.”

Gala Tent has a history of compassion when it comes to the support and development of young people, having previously worked with the Peter Jones Foundation and the Dearne Valley Personal Development Centre, as well as launching an artistic contest to provide primary school children with printed gazebos. The conflict in Ukraine has struck a chord, and the company is keen to do its bit.

To make a donation through the Gala Tent Stand With Ukraine campaign, either text STAND to 07480619057 or donate directly here. Once the campaign reaches its target of entries, the winner will be notified and delivery will be arranged. Gala Tent will make further announcements about the supplies purchased and organisations worked with in due course, through all available channels.
