Some 47 schools from across England have made Gulliver’s Valley Theme Park and Resort as must visit residential for their children and young people in 2023.

The school residential package, launched in 2022, will welcome 2,500 students this year and is celebrating an 85% rebooking rate from those who visited in 2022.

Adam Bliss, group sales manager at Gulliver’s Theme Park Resorts, said: “Our school residential package has proven extremely popular and is bringing lots of schools and children from outside of the region to Rotherham.

“We are determined to offer a memorable residential experience for students and continue to work to keep that experience affordable for schools and their families at this challenging time.

“Our residential and overnight stay options are fantastic for young people of all ages and we have everything from one to four night options in en-suite accommodation and special one night slumber packages where the students bring their sleeping bags and camp indoors inside a theme park!

“The visits include lots of fun on the theme park rides but also have activities from bushcraft and shelter building to environmental art and nature trails. There is so much to choose from.

“Feedback from the schools who have visited us has been amazing with 100% of schools telling us they would recommend a residential stay at Gulliver’s, 100% of schools achieving all or most of their learning outcomes and 98% rating our staff as excellent or very good.

“Importantly for us it’s about understanding the school requirements and the required learning outcomes, so we work with each school to put together activities to make sure that these are met – just like the children, we are always learning!”

All schools visiting Gulliver’s Theme Parks and Resorts for a residential stay benefit from a dedicated point of contact who will work with the team to ensure that learning outcomes are met and that activities are tailored towards the schools need.

Charlotte D’Rozario, assistant principal from Hexthorpe Primary School, Doncaster said: “We truly have had the most amazing time and the children absolutely loved it. It really has been the best residential experience I’ve had by a mile!”

Gulliver’s Theme Park and Resorts are introducing SEN Residentials for 2023/2024 working with teachers and school staff to support Special Schools and Mainstream Schools with SEN Units.

Adam added: “We are pleased to be introducing these new residential packages where students get to enjoy activities such as our Farm Experiences, Arts and Crafts, Outdoor Nature Activities.”
