Share your stake in NHS charity World Cup sweepstake
England manager Gareth Southgate has finally announced the line-up for his World Cup squad, which means the draw can officially begin for the Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity’s sweepstake.
As the anticipation rises for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar on 20 November, the charity is encouraging businesses, community groups, work colleagues, friends and family groups to host a fundraising sweepstake.
Participants simply pay a donation to enter the sweepstake and whoever has the top-scoring team at the end of the tournament wins. All the money raised should be split equally between the winner and the charity.
Rachael Dawes, Head of Fundraising, said: “The FIFA World Cup only happens every four years and is one of the most hugely anticipated events, involving 32 countries from across the globe. We know South Yorkshire is a region full of proud football fans, so we hope our first ever sweepstake inspires people to get involved in fundraising for their local NHS charity.
“Whether you’re lucky enough draw favourites Brazil, Argentina, France or our home team – we hope it also helps to get the competitive spirit flowing.”
All the funds raised via the sweepstake will help the charity to support the work of The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, funding the extra special resources, equipment and projects which the Government would ordinarily not provide.
