The 2020 Considerate Constructors Scheme National Company & Supplier Awards results were announced on Wednesday 18th November – with CR Civil Engineering, who have an operational office in Rotherham, winning not one but two awards!

The National Company and Supplier Awards celebrate companies and suppliers registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme that have implemented the highest standards of consideration towards the neighbourhood and general public, the workforce and the environment.

We are delighted to announce that we are winners of the 2020 National Company Gold Award and also achieved Runner Up for the Most Considerate Company Award, for £10m and over! CR Civil Engineering achieved the Gold National Company Award and also crowned The Most Considerate Company back in 2017 – a huge (surprising) success for us! In 2019, we achieved National Bronze Award, so we are delighted that our continuous improvements and innovations over the past 12 months have secured our Gold status this year.

Achieving “Runner Up” Most Considerate Company Award recognises that we are the 2nd Most Considerate Company in the country, for £10m and above, within the construction industry!

The company has consistently demonstrated that workforce health and safety is a priority across all of its works. As it is often difficult to calculate operative exposure to tools that cause Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) due to the array of tools used on site, the company has developed a ground-breaking smartphone application that allows Site Managers and Foremen to calculate the risk of HAVS when using certain tools. This consideration for the workforce has continued through the coronavirus pandemic, with several employees trained as ‘Controllers of Personal Space’ to ensure that all measures to keep the workforce and public safe during coronavirus are followed. CR Civil Engineering have contributed and engaged with communities surrounding their work through charity work and excellent communications. The company has ensured that they leave a lasting legacy in the community by reusing compound material from site to reconstruct a local speedway car park. Through their innovative HAVS development that prioritises worker safety and their consideration for their workforce and the public, this company has proven themselves to be a beacon of best practice for the industry.”
