James Biggin completes epic running challenge for the Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity
James Biggin, Managing Director of promotional merchandise distributor Steel City Marketing, has completed a massive 100 miles trail run across The West Highland Way in Scotland in just 4 days. The distance was split with the first 3 days being “ultra-marathons” and a final day 15 mile run.
Running alongside his wife Rachel and Alby the Sprocker Spaniel, the trio covered the route that takes in 13,211 feet of ascent and James burned 11,638 calories. The iconic “Way” starts just north of Glasgow and finishes in Fort William, close to Ben Nevis.
Recently appointed ambassador to The Children’s Hospital Charity, James decided this mega running challenge was the ideal endeavor to kick start his fundraising journey for the charity. He has so far smashed his target of £1,500 with a massive £2,860, donated by 112 supporters.
“I feel very lucky to have been able to do this challenge. It has been an unreal, once in a lifetime experience. We had days of bright sunshine, met some lovely people and to do it all for a local charity which I feel privileged to support is just amazing. I am stunned by the generosity of everyone who donated and want to say a huge, heartfelt thank you!”
