A surge in demand for marquees has covered important key roles at Britain largest manufacturer of commercial tents and accessories. This news following the Prime Minister’s recent easing of lockdown restrictions.

Jason Mace CEO who heads the Gala operation said, “We’re seeing almost normal incoming business and many of the industries that are usually our bread and butter aren’t even open yet. Although chancellor Rishi Sunak said there’s no guarantee of quick economic bounce back, I’m confident that the UK will in fact boom again. All the signs are happening now, I have a gut feeling that things will be better than ever.”

Partner CEO Mark Thompson said “We have starting to bring staff that were on furlough and 4 days back to full time. The business is basically calling them in through sheer demand, and we’re almost back to full capacity. There have been some shocking big-business casualties of the crisis, so we’re proud to have turned it round in only twelve weeks. I think we can look forward with optimism.”

Gala Tent Sales Manager Darren Perry, said, “The pandemic has been a huge test in how the company can adapt to widespread, huge changes, and I’m very pleased to say that we have the products and the team to deal with it head on. If one road closes, it’s important to be confident that we can go off-road and find new and exciting paths to explore.”

Now in its twenty-first-year Gala Tent has taken on nationwide economic uncertainty before; however, nothing has been more testing than the Covid-19 crisis, but Gala Tent is keen to show it can adapt with an ever-changing landscape. Marquees that are usually the lifeblood of the hospitality and events industry are now resurrected as pop-up coronavirus testing stations, social distancing queue shelters, entry and exit checkpoint tents, as well as providing garden shelter for homeowners and home workers. Pubs and hotels are snapping up commercial grade structures to increase capacities during the social distancing era.

And the good fortune stretches to the other businesses under the Gala umbrella too; Gala Graphics saw a recent influx of demand for its printed services which saw the launch of a series of exclusive Social Distancing Floor Markers, Banners and Signs.

Motorsport supplies brand Gala Performance has seen an increase in demand for the Swisstrax garage flooring as guys look to improve and brighten up their man cave whilst locked down working from home, seeing the brand post 6 month growth of 47%, year on year, despite motorsport events being completely halted by the pandemic.

Gala Technology which specialise in customer not present payment solutions have seen a major update in providing payments solutions for home workers along with some major partner deals.

Founded in 1999, Gala Tent has grown to sell over 15,000 tents and marquees each year, along with around 90,000 event accessories and furniture products in the UK.

In the UK, Gala Tent is a preferred supplier for organisations including the military, NHS, the South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, South Yorkshire Police Service, St John’s Ambulance and AA, as well as to thousands of homeworkers and homeowners nationally.
