Enable Unity, a local provider of leisure and play opportunities for the disabled community, has launched a brand new session with support from The National Lottery Community Fund.

Based at their Sensory Planet venue in Thurnscoe, children aged 8 to 14 with special educational needs or a disability can access the after-school family sessions for just £5.

MD of Enable Unity, Hannah Mounsey, said: “We’re passionate about creating an environment that the whole family can enjoy, regardless of whether your child or children have special needs or disabilities. Our new sessions will provide both creative and fun activities in addition to our three stimulating sensory rooms. We hope that this will take a little bit of pressure off some families and help them to regain precious family time.”

Sensory Planet, which is owned and run by Enable Unity Community Interest Company, is a unique multi-sensory environment for people with disabilities or special needs. The centre can be hired exclusively by individuals, families and groups.
