Local businesses and Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce members Russell Richardson and Impelling have entered into a new working partnership that sees each business benefit from the other’s services.

Established in 1978, Russell Richardson are a stalwart in the South Yorkshire businesses scene, evolving from a small family run business into one of the UK’s leading secure document destruction and recycling companies. With over 20 staff headquartered at their Tinsley office, Russell Richardson provides a range of shredding, archiving, and recycling solutions to businesses across the UK.

The company has benefited from recent growth, which has led the management team to look for ways to improve processes and efficiency across the business. One area the team identified they could use some help with was their IT.

Lyndsay Stewart, Director at Russell Richardson comments, “As we were looking for a partner that could support our growth, as well as help advise with an IT strategy, Russell Richardson turned to Impelling, a company who not only happen to be fellow Chamber members, but are also based less than 10 minutes down the road in Catcliffe. It was important for us to work with someone local, and Impelling tick all the right boxes for us to align to our longer term plans. We’re delighted to have them on board as our IT partner.”

Impelling are a managed IT service provider, with 15 staff offering ambitious businesses support, advice, and strategy for all things digital. As Russell Richardson’s new IT partner their remit will be to take a detailed look at how IT is currently utilised across the business and develop ways to leverage technology to make the lives of staff at the company easier, and will find ways to help the business as a whole achieve its goals.

In addition to providing IT services for Russell Richardson, Russell Richardson will also become Impelling’s choice partner for their IT equipment recycling needs.

Director at Impelling Ed Hardie said, “As you might imagine, we come across a lot of equipment that’s at the end of its life that we are not able to repurpose. Disposing of this equipment responsibly is something we’re committed to doing, and we’re glad we can call on Russell Richardson to help us do just that”.

Both businesses are looking forward to building a strong working relationship, as well as seeking further opportunities to collaborate.
