Membership

Terms & Conditions

Duration of Membership

The minimum period is 12 months. Should a member decide to terminate membership within the 12 month period, then they remain liable for the full annual fee. No refunds can be given and membership is non-transferable.

Communication

The Chamber regularly communicates with its members, by email, post and telephone. We aim to approach members with information that is of interest to them. This is an integral part of membership and by entering into Membership, to consent to this please tick the relevant box above. This regular communication can be terminated by the member at any given time. Also, from time to time, members may be contacted by the Chamber’s carefully selected partners in order to make them aware of certain membership benefits, to give consent to receive these benefits please tick the relevant box above.

Termination of Membership

A member may terminate their membership by giving written notice at least three months before the expiration of their membership year, otherwise they shall be held liable to pay their subscription for the ensuing year subscription shall be a debt due and legally recoverable by the Chamber. Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber reserves the absolute right to terminate the Membership of any member when it is reasonably considered that continued membership is not in the interest of the Chamber or its members.

Chamber Services

Should membership come to an end for any reason, the ex-member will immediately forfeit all rights to access Chamber Services and benefits. Any advice sought following termination of membership will be charged accordingly. Also, the Chamber shall notify other service providers and any ex-members will be excluded from their beneficial rates.

Chamber Logo

If membership comes to an end the ex-member must destroy all stationary displaying the Barnsley & Rotherham logo (this includes logos shown on websites).

Articles of Association

Membership is subject to the provision of the Articles of Association (available on request) and in the event of a conflict between these terms and conditions and the Articles of Association, the Articles shall prevail.

Liability

The Chamber shall have no liability for any losses suffered by a member as a result of using services offered by a fellow member. The Chamber shall have no responsibility for advice given or services provided by its third party service providers.

Events

Terms & Conditions

The following terms and conditions are applicable to all Chamber events.

Payment

All events must be paid in full before delegates attend
Payment can be made by credit / debit card, BACS or cheque.
A receipted invoice will be sent out for payments by credit / debit card by email / or post.
CCB&R Ltd have the right to refuse entry to events to any delegate who has not made payment in full.
All events are subject to VAT being added.

Late Payment

In the event of late payment we reserve the right to charge interest on all outstanding amounts at the rate of 2% per calendar month or part from the last date that payment was due to the date that payment was made.

Cancellation Fee

All cancellations must be made in writing to [email protected] to be eligible for a refund as per the guide below.

Business Awards
Cancellations must be made in writing to [email protected] .
100% refund available up to 28 working days prior to the awards.
50% refund available up to 14 working days prior to the awards.
No refunds after this time for cancellations. All prices are plus VAT. All payment must be made in full before the event. Tables will be allocated on a first come first served basis, with sponsors having priority seating.

Chamber Christmas Dinner
Cancellations must be made in writing to [email protected] 10 working days before the event to be eligible for a refund.

Chamber Means Business (Exhibitors)
Cancellations must be made in writing to [email protected] 10 working days prior to the event to be eligible for a refund.

Chamber Race Day
No refunds after a booking has been made. Payment must be made in full before any tickets / event info will be sent.

International Women’s Day
Cancellations must be made in writing to [email protected] 5 working days prior to the event to be eligible for a refund.

WIB Christmas Lunch
Cancellations must be made in writing to [email protected] 10 workings days prior to the event to be eligible for a refund.

Cancellation by us

We reserve the right to cancel any event at any time without liability. In the unlikely event of this happening delegates would be offered an alternative date, event or a full refund.

Changing Delegate Details

There is no charge if a substitute person wishes to replace an existing delegate. Please inform us as soon as possible before the event start. If dietary’s or special requests have been made prior these may not be able to be changed.

Literature

Delegates cannot distribute literature en-mass at any event unless a designated literature exchange table is provided (if this is the case it will be detailed on the individual event listings). Delegates seen doing so will have their literature removed by the organisers.

Delegate List

Delegate lists will not be sent out prior to the event

Photography / Video

Photos/videos may be taken at events and used in post event publicity. Should you not want to be included in photos/videos, please make the photographer/videographer aware on the day of the event.

Times

Times are as specified when booking.

Locations

A location map will be provided for each course booking, in cases of uncertainty contact us for further details.

Training

Terms & Conditions

The following terms and conditions are applicable to all Chamber training courses.

Payment

An invoice will be raised upon confirmation of booking. Full payment of the invoice must be made within 30 days of the date of issue, unless the booking is made within one month of course commencement in which case payment must be made at least 14 days prior to the course start date. Short notice bookings (i.e. less than 14 days will be accepted by arrangement)

Late payment may result in delegates not be admitted to the course and / or to interest being added at 2% above bank base rate.
Chamber Skills Solutions reserves the right not to allow delegates to attend courses unless full payment has been received. All invoices, irrespective of the course location will be issued by Chamber Skills Solutions.

All cheques should be made payable to Chamber Skills Solutions. BACs payments to HSBC 40-39-07 a/c 32563207. Card payments will be accepted for short notice bookings and by arrangement.

All courses are subject to VAT being added.

Certificates

Delegate certificates will not be issued until full payment has been received
Copy certificates will be charged an administration fee of £50 + VAT

Accreditation

Accreditation is governed by accrediting bodies and Chamber Skills Solutions can take no responsibility for candidates failing to meet accreditation requirements or for any other matter relating to accreditation criteria.

Transferring Delegates

Chamber Skills Solutions reserves the right to charge the following:

  • Less than 4 weeks notice up to £35 + VAT
  • Less than 2 weeks notice up to £50 + VAT

If this transfer is then cancelled and/or the delegate fails to attend, then the full fee remains payable.

Cancelling Courses

Cancellations to bookings made before the start of the course are subject to the costing table outlined below.
If the delegate fails to attend the course, the full fee must be paid.

Cancellation of the course by Chamber Skills Solutions

We reserve the right to cancel any course at any time without liability. In the unlikely event of this happening delegates would be offered an alternative date, course or a full refund. We reserve the right to alter course contents without prior notice as all of our courses are constantly updated to maintain a high standard of quality.

Full day courses run from 09:30am to 04:30pm* Half-day courses run from 09:30am to 1:00pm*
