Within our training calendar we will be holding regular courses to cover the below subjects:

Introduction to Exporting

The learner will be able to prepare an export quotation, understand INCOTERMs and packing marking and labelling. Be able to organise the export office and the processes required by that office. Understand export order processing and give an overview of export documentation and terms of shipment.

Letters of Credit

The learner will be able to identify the Letter of Credit procedure and identify the parties to a Letter of Credit. Be able to identify the different methods of payment and the different types of Letters of Credit. Be able to comply with the requirements of the Letter of Credit.

Import Procedures

The learner will be able to demonstrate an understanding of import documentation and procedures. Be able to identify customs regimes and import controls. Where to go for sources of international information and assistance.

Export Documentation

The learner will be able to understand which documents are necessary for an international shipment. Be able to identify where to go for sources of international information and assistance. Be able to identify modes of transport and their advantage and disadvantages.

Incoterms 2010

The learner will be able to understand the purpose of Incoterms. Be able to understand the definitions of the Incoterms 2010 rules. Be able to identify what are the roles of the parties involved in deciding which INCOTERM is acceptable and their responsibilities. Be able to understand the benefits of Incoterms and be able to identify where to go for help and information.

Methods of Payment

The learner will be able to identify the different methods of payment used in international trade. Be able to identify and understand the necessary documentation for each method of payment. Be able to comply with the requirements of different methods of payment.

Inward and Outward Processing – HMRC

The learner will have an understanding of the advantages of claiming IPR or OPR. Have an understanding of the custom regimes and the “Tariff”. Have an understanding of the documentation required to claim IPR and OPR.

Preference Rules of Origin

The learner will have an understanding of the difference between Preference and Non-Preference Origin. Have an understanding of the rules determining preference rules of origin. Have an understanding of the percentage rule and how to apply it.

Agents and Distributors

The learner will have an understanding of the differences between Agents and distributors and their roles. Have an understanding of what to consider when appointing an Agent or Distributor. Have an understanding of the legal implications of appointing Agents and distributors.

Customs Procedures and Documentation

The learner will have an understanding of the role of HMRC, rules of origin and Intra EC trade. Have an understanding of customs procedures and the UK trade tariff. Have an understanding of the different duties payable and how to calculate them.
